Gwen looked down at Ben with a cocky smile. "We're not supposed to meet him for another five more years."

"Huh??? " Ben said confused.

"I'm saying he timed traveled, Dweeb. Similar to when we did. He came from five years from now." Gwen said, like the smart show-off she was.

"What....? NO WAY!" Ben said excited.

"Yeah. That's right." Gwen said having trouble containing her own excitement. "And that's not all..." She explained the Plumber thing, the charm, how he had popped out of nowhere and kicked the Vulpimancer's butt, how he was fighting aliens with the two of them in the future... everything Kiley had told her in that short time.

Kevin smiled, he found both of their excitement amusing. It was sooo odd and weird to see them acting like this over him. It kind of defied logic, the two cousins were something else. Not completely different from what he knows, but there was a difference. Again Kevin's mind wandered to five years ago and why he had not seen what he saw now in both Ben and Gwen. If he had, things would've been different along time ago, and now as well.

As Gwen had finished telling Ben all he had told her, Kevin looked down to see Ben looked up at him with a silly smile. "Cooool." was all that came out of his mouth, as they kept walking up the hill.

Finally, the RV had come into view. Walking up to it Kevin could see Max was pacing nervously, anxiously waiting for Ben and Gwen to come back. When the old man caught a glimpse of them he started to walk their way, a relieved look on his face. He smiled and said, "Ben, Gwen!"

"Grandpa!" Ben and Gwen said almost at the same time, in rejoicing to see the old guy.

Ben ran in to Max's arms as Max said, "Good job Ben." Ben smiled and said cockily, "Told you I would find Gwen in no time as XLR8."

Then Max walked over to Kevin and Gwen, ignoring Kevin at first, he just grabbed Gwen by the hand. As if Kevin was invisible he says, "Gwen your alright." Then he just smiled at her for a few minutes, Gwen just smiled back at the old guy before he asks, "What happened to you Gwen?"

Then looking at Kevin as he said, "And who is your friend here?" A smile had crossed the old guys face.

“Oooh him." Gwen said blushing. "This is Kiley. He saved me from the Vulpimancer."

Max looked at the teen boy now with an appreciated look, even though something about this boy seemed familiar, but Max just dismissed the feeling. "He did? Weeellll." Then offering the boy a friendly handshake, he said, "Thank you Kiley. I'm Max Tenn.....”

But Ben interrupted saying, "He already knows Grandpa. And not because me or Gwen told him." Ben blurted out excitedly everything Gwen had told him about Kiley.

Max stood there taking it all in, a little stunned but not surprised, he knew from Verdona what an Anodite's powers were capable of, and time travel was one of them.

He then looked up at Kiley, who looked a little antsy and worried. The teen boy quickly said, "Yeah, I'm from five years from now and I saved Gwen from the Vulpimancer, but not before it bit her on the ankle. I don't know anything about medicines, but take a look." Kevin sat Gwen down on a picnic table so Max could look at her better.

Max walked over to Gwen, looking at her he just realized that she had a bandage nicely tied on her ankle. He looked worried as he carefully unwrapped it and examined the wound. The worried look on Max's face grew as he said "Ahhhhhh...... yes.. I see, and the closest hospital is miles away up the road in Hampton."

Then Max picked Gwen up in his arms and said, "Come on Ben," as he carried Gwen to the Rust Bucket.

Ben followed as Kevin watched the three head to the RV, but just as Max was about to step into the RV Gwen looked back at Kiley who didn't seem to be following them. As she put her hand on the door frame to stop Max, she then said, "Kiley.... come on. I still need to see if I can send you back... Aren't you coming?" She wanted him to come. A disappointed look crossed her face as she thought, 'What was he waiting for? An invitation?'

"Yeah, come on Kiley. Lets go." Ben said, looking back to see that the boy didn't seem to be coming. He wanted to get to know the boy more too.

Kevin just looked over at Max to see if the invite was three ways. Seeing Max nod to him, Kevin smiles and follows the three into the RV.

Kevin sat with Ben and Gwen at the table in the back as Max got in the drivers set. Kevin sat on the right of the table, near the window beside Ben, only because Max had set Gwen up on the other side with pillows to rest her back, injured leg, and everything else on. When everyone was seated Max started up the RV and they were off.....

A few minutes into the ride and Ben asked Kevin if he would like to play a video game with him. "Hey Kiley, you like video games? I've got Sumo Smack Down 2.0.. and not to brag, but yep, I'm the best at it. No one can beat me at this game, but you're welcome to try. What do you say?" Ben said with a overconfident smile.

Kevin couldn't resist the challenge, beside the fact that there was nothing better to do, he, like all boys his age, still liked video games as much as the next teenager boy. So with a big grin, and eyes staring Ben down, Kevin said, "Your on."

Hearing the game, Max looks in the review mirror at the three in the back. Gwen was joyfully watching, and Ben had a intense focused look in his eyes. Then Max's stare drifted to Kiley as he thought, 'This boy reminds me of someone I knew. But I know I've never seen this boy before, but he reminds me of someone I met in my Plumbers days.... but who it is I can't figure out." Unable to figure it out, Max turned his focus back to his driving.

Kevin had picked Kencon and Ben was Isheamon in a two-player vs match. Ben was extremely good at this game, but that wouldn't stop Kevin from staying on top of Ben. No way was he going to lose or admit that Ben was good at the game. Gwen was watching the whole game and was cheering him on too, both him and Ben smashing the keys on the controls.

"Hahaha! Special attack!" Ben yelled.

"No! Kiley watch out! Left key, left key!" Gwen was yelling.

"Ohhh yeah!" Kevin yelled. "Ahhh you got me, but watch out."

Kevin laughed as he pressed B-down which made the game character turn in to a dragon. "Now what, Ben?"

Ben expression just intensified as he smashed the buttons on his control.

"Alright Kiley!" Gwen said, watching the screen.

As Kevin played and watching both cousins, a thought crossed his mind. 'Was this what it would've been like if I'd... for lack of a better word, if I'd said “yes” to Ben's offer in New York?'

But just then Ben yelled. "I got you now Kencon!"

"Don't be so sure of it." Kevin replied, as he did an really cool combo attack.

Ben put his control down as they heard the game console yell, "KO. Winner. Winner."

Ben looks at Kevin and says, "Duddde, nooo way you beat me."

Kevin smiles cockily as he says, "Tough brake. Maybe when your older." He laughed then threw his controls down.

After giving Kiley a scalding look Ben says, "So Kiley, Gwen was saying you have powers?"

"Yep, that's right." Kevin said, not even looking at Ben, kind of leaning back on the window very relaxed and cool-like.

Ben got overly excited as he tried to say calmly, "Show me."

"Ummmmm o o OK. Go get me a spoon or fork, and something wood." Kevin said, taken a little off guard that Ben wanted and was asking to see, his powers.

Ben jumped off his seat and ran to rummaged through the drawers. He came back with a metal ladle and a wooden cutting board, and placed them in front of Kevin anxiously.

Kevin looked a Ben, then at the items he had placed in front of him thinking, 'This is weird how Ben's reacting, all because he has no idea who I am.' But he touched both items anyway, absorbing the metal in his right hand, and the wood in his left. Not saying anything as he did it, he then held up both hands for both cousins to see, rolling his eyes as he did it. "Happy now?" he said.

"Yes." Ben said.

Gwen just smiled really nicely at him.

It made Kevin pause, it was sooo nice and pretty as Kevin was thinking of his fifteen-year-old Gwen. He was lost in her smile as Ben continued with the questions.

"Do you really have a Plumber's badge, and you're fighting aliens with us?" Ben asked.

"Hunnn.. What..? Oh yeah, that's right." Kevin said taking out his Plumber's badge to show Ben, who was looked at it like it was the best thing he'd seen all summer.

"But its not working right now." an unimpressed look was on Kevin's face.

Even Max looked back to get a glimpse of the badge. "Your kind of young to be a Plumber."

Kevin just shrugged at the comment and said, "Yeah."

Max brings out the one of his own that was tuned off, but when Max tuned it on Kevin saw a blip on his Plumber's badge screen.

"Probably just wasn't an active badge to pick up on." Max said.

"Oooh." Kevin said looking at his badge.

Then Max tuned back to his driving thinking, 'Even this kid's “don't care” attitude and over-cockiness seems familiar.' It was starting to come to him, 'A young male Plumber that I met a few years before retirement, but that still doesn't narrow it down too much. The face and name of this Plumber still allude me.' It was very frustrating, but he put it to the back of his mind again, and focused on his driving.

As Kevin put the Plumber's badge back in his pocket Ben kept asking, "So, who are we fighting in the future? Are we fighting Dr. Animo?"

Kevin lays back, resting on the window with his eyes closed, as he replied. “Yeah, but he's calling himself something else now. We kicked his butt with a little help of the Plumber's Helpers.”

“OK...What about the Circus Freaks?"

"No."

"Sublimino?"

"Who?" Kevin said looking up then. "What kind of a name is that?" then he laid back against the window again.

"Never mind." Ben said snickering that Kevin had dissed him. "How about Volcanus?"

"Yep, we had a fight with him." Kevin said, letting his focus and stare drift away as he said it.

"What about Charmcaster?" Gwen asked.

Kevin looked at her as he answered. "No."

"Hex?" Ben said.

"No."

"Rojo?" Ben asked.

"No."

"Sixsix?"

"Well, we do fight a guy named Sevenseven. He's the same kind of alien." Kevin said.

"What about the Forever Knights?"

Kevin smiled as he said, "Yeah, we've tangled with them a few times."

Ben got a wicked smile on his face when he said, "I bet I know one bad guy you've never met, or even heard of." Laughing as he said, "I almost feel sorry for the jerk. We offered him a chance to come with us, and help us fight the villains with us... become a good guy."

Kevin just frowned he knew where this was going, but let Ben continue anyway.

Ben said, "And the little creep just threw it back in my face many times. He was sooo not worth it. Kevin 11 never was."

Then Ben smiled another wicked smile and laughing he said, "But Kevin 11 got what he deserved. A one-way ticket to the Null Void. I don't think we'll ever see the poor sucker again, will we Kiley?" Ben looked at him and took the surprised and stupefied look on Kiley's face as a yes. It was like Kiley had no idea what he was talking about. As Ben was falling back on his chair he was laughing. "I knew it. We never see him again. He will never get out." he said, still laughing.

Kevin let him think that, even though all he wanted to do at that moment was rip Ben's throat out after hearing it. Even if allot of it was true. But it was the way Ben'd said it, Kevin could hardly hold himself back.

"Ben, that's not very nice." Gwen said looking away from both boys, rolling her eyes.

Ben just put both hands on the table and leaned toward her. "Oh come on Gwen, that little orphan did so much damage. He almost took down the Golden Gate Bridge, nearly crashed two subway trains for money, tried to fry two policemen at the mint, almost sent a cable car in to the river, passengers and all, and tried to kill me a number of times. Not to mention whatever he did in Verso and Tallahassee. I'm not even sure if he killed Technorg or not, I barley got off that ship because of him. The guy even teamed up with Vilgax just to try and track me down, and what did you say about him Grandpa? Something about not having paddles in his boat?"

"Oooh, you mean that the kid's rowboat is missing a couple of paddles?" Max said, looking back for a minute.

Kevin was stunned by what they were saying. It was for the most-part true, but harsh, and right to his face, even if they didn't know it. But it wasn't like he hadn't said stuff like this behind, and to the Tennyson's faces. But still, it was hard to hear.

And Ben still continued, "Yeah, that." Ben said laughing. Then looking at Gwen with a stern face he said, "Not to mention the stuff he's done to you."

When Kevin heard that his heart skipped a beat and he lost his breath, just like someone had punched him hard in the stomach.

"Kevin 11 tried to kill you at the mint, he tried to crush you with a car, he slammed into the RV with you and Grandpa in it, and then the icing on the cake was when he took you hostage in the
Null Void. We barely got out of there alive because of him. Come on, don't you think it was creepy when he captured you in the Null Void?" Ben asked her.

Kevin felt guilty now, worse than guilty, if that were possible. He never wanted to find out Gwen's reactions to these things. He was afraid to. He looked at Gwen expecting a really bad answer.

Ben was looking at her too, as she was quivering she said, "Yeah... OK, it was creepy. I don't know what he was going to do with me and I was a little scared." She stopped quivering and continued, "But I'm not going to hold it against him. He's been through allot for an eleven year old. So I don't blame him."

Kevin was at a complete loss... that was nowhere close to any answer he thought she would have about it. 'Could she be even greater then I thought?'

Just then he noticed Ben storming out and heading to the back of the RV as he grumbling, "What do you know. Haaa, that has to be the stupidest thing I've heard." He walked pass them and shut the blinds that divided the room in half, enclosing himself in the bedding area.

"Maybe Ben's right." Gwen mumbled, putting her head down.

But Kevin heard her, and it was like the word just came out of his mouth, like someone else was controlling what he was saying. "N n no." he said, looking at her.

When Gwen heard that one word she looked up at him a bit confused.

Seeing Gwen had looked up at him, Kevin tried to avoid her stare, looking away as the words kept coming out uncontrollably. He took a deep breath. "Don't listen to Ben.... Don't stop showing that faith and kindness to people, even people who don't deserve it......" He took another deep breath and looked further away from her, before he continued. "Just trust me, I'm not going to tell you any more than this, but..... if you keep showing leaps of faith and kindness like this, even to those who don't deserve it, it will pay off one of these days." Then Kevin looked out the window, too embarrassed by what he'd just said. He couldn't look at her.

'He's not saying anything more.' Gwen wondered what he was talking about. Was something going to happen five years from now that she had to do? Something that would make a difference somehow? But she could see there was no way he was going to tell her more, it wasn't even worth trying. She'd just have to remember it. She looked at him, he was looking out the window now very quiet, Gwen just smiled and went onto her computer.

Kevin was in deep thought now, looking out the window. 'What would it have been like NOT to spend all those years in the Null Void. To have joined up with Ben and Gwen five years ago when I was eleven. For lack of a better word, if I hadn't told Ben “NO” under the 39th street bridge........ But it's not like there's anything I can do at this point in time. Most of the damage has already been done...... But what if I'd said yes? What would've happened..... what would things be like in my own time? When I was a kid it was always like one betrayal after another, I couldn't see it when someone was actually being sincere. Everything before was always like anytime something good came for me it was always pulled back away. Like I was standing on a carpet, and every time I'd regained my balance someone would rip it out from under my feet and I'd fall back down to that low spot again....  but now I know it's real this time, no one's going to pull it away. But if only I'd known five years ago what I know now.' Fantasies began to fill his head as he remembered the day Ben had told him to come with them, remembering that for a second he'd actually considered Ben's offer, but then he'd thought of how no one kept their word, and to get anything you had to take it. Kevin had blown off the offer as a lie, but what if he hadn't...? Unfortunately this was all just wishful thinking now... he thought as he kept looking out the window.

The RV was so quite now you could hear a pin drop. Ben was in the back doing who knows what, Kevin was just staring out the window, and Gwen was quietly looking on her computer. They entered Hampton and Max quickly tried to located and find the hospital in this city. It didn't take Max long to find it, and he parked the RV in the parking lot of the local hospital.

As the RV stopped Ben stepped out of the back and walked up to Gwen. She was putting her computer away and looked up to see Ben standing beside her. Ben said, "Hey, sorry I was acting like that Gwen. It's not a bad thing that you show kindness.... even to your enemy (rolling his eyes) I guess... as long as you don't do it in battle." A silly 'I'm sorry' smile was on his face.

Gwen smiled and said, "Thanks Ben." As she thought, 'At least he was trying.'

Then Max came over and picked Gwen up in his arms, she just looked over at Kiley and smiled encourage him to follow. Ben did the same as he looked up at Kiley, obviously not realizing he had dissed him big time... Which Kevin was still a little annoyed about, but not as much as he was before. He gave Ben a bit of the evil eye when Ben looked at him.

Which Ben was taken away by and confused about as he looked away, not sure what to make of the look Kiley was giving him, or why he was doing it. So he just left it at that and walked beside Max.

Nonetheless Kevin followed the three out of the RV and to the hospital, thinking on the way how he was dieing to tell them who he was so he could chew out Ben for what he'd said, and prove them wrong... But he knew the bragging rights wouldn't be worth the consequences, so he kept walking, not saying a word.

When they got there Max sat Gwen down in a chair, then went to the register desk and talked a bit. Then some nurse took Gwen away in a wheel chair to another room, which left Kevin, Ben and Max to wait in the waiting room.

So with nothing to do but to wait and see, Kevin just sat down in a chair at the far end of the room away from Ben and Max. But soon after Ben followed him and sat right beside him, Kevin was still annoyed with him and gave him another mean look.

This time Ben just frowned at him and said, "Dude, if I said anything I'm sorry, OK. I don't even know what I said... what do you want from me?"

A sneer crossed Kevin's face as he said sarcastically, "Why don't you turn into Upgrade and spook the front desk lady, or do some dog tricks with Wildmutt." He knew Ben would never make a fool of himself and probably just go away and leave him alone...

But Ben didn't, instead he looked at Max and when Max had left the room for a second Ben slammed down the Omnitrix and became Upgrade, then he sneaked into the computer and gets in the system. First he makes all three phones on the desk ring all at the same time, then the automatic doors open and close rapidly and the lights flicker. The look on the lady's face at the front desks was priceless, and she actually answered one of the phones. All Kevin saw was her face turn a pale white, then she threw the phone and ran out of the room, and Ben came out of the computer and slithered back over to Kiley.

By then Kevin was falling off his chair laughing thinking, 'I cant believe it... he did it.'

As Ben sat back beside him, a sneaky look on upgrades face, the watch timed out.

Kevin looked at Ben and through the laughs he said, "You dweeb... you did it."

A cocky sneer crossed Ben's face as Kevin continued. "I guess your not sooo bad Ben." he said, still laughing.

Now Ben was laughing too as he said, "Just don't tell Grandpa Max I did that OK?"

"Fine." Kevin said, his laughter settling down.

Max had now walked back in the waiting room with a coffee in one hand, after seeing a scared nurse run down the hall, he came back to the waiting room to see the two boys getting along. He smiled and sat down at the other end of the room from the two boys, and then focused on Kiley, still trying to figure out who he reminded him of. He watched as both gave a mischievous laugh and he thought rolling his eyes, 'They must've had something to do with the scared nurse.' It finally came to him who it was this boy reminded him of. A Plumber he knew eleven years ago who had died just a few days before his son was born.

A sad expression filled Max's face and he paused for a minute then continued thinking. 'Then that man's son had disappeared not too long after, as well. Mark Levin.... but why does Kiley reminded me of Mark Levin? Their son had even died, leaving Susan Levin alone. What was the son's name even?' The name had slipped his mind.

Max thought really hard to back when Susan had told him the kid's name, trying to remember. "Ken? No that's not it. Kale? No. Korin....? Noooo, but it began with a 'k'. Kardar? Noooo, still not
it." Giving up on the name Max thought back. 'The last time I'd even seen Susan Levin was seven years ago when there son had run away and she had come running to me, begging me to help her find him. She was in tears and in a panic, she had buried her tear soaked face into my Hawaiian shirt, and through her sobs she'd said something.

“Pleasssse Max, please.... its alllll my fault that.... that... KEVIN ran away...."

Max swallowed hard at the name he had just remembered. A small fear came over him, one of the most vicious and dangerous people they'd faced this summer. 'It can't be.'

Looking at Kiley he suddenly realized who this young man with black hair and brown eyes was. 'Kevin... that was why he reminds me of Mark. It's amazing how much he's now the spitting image of his father. Kevin 11, the baddest of the bad, was the son of Susan and Mark Levin. Kevin 11 was Kevin Levin. It was sooooo obvious why didn't I realize it sooner?'

Looking down he was sad and a little disappointed in himself for not seeing it when it matted. 'Mark Levin was a great man, Plumber and husband, he would've made a good dad as well. But they never had a chance to meet, because Mark died before Kevin's birth. I know Susan would've told Kevin the stories of Mark's great adventurers as a Plumber before Kevin had runaway. I owe Mark Levin a great deal, I even stayed fairly close to the family when Mark was alive. Mark had saved my skin many time and all I did to repay him was throw his son in the Null Void. It was obvious now that Kevin was going to break out of the Null Void, and a change was going to happen in Kevin in the next five years. Kevin 11 was no longer going to be the baddest of the bad, he was going to change.' Looking at Kevin a shimmer was in Max's eyes as he thought, 'The boy standing before me was the proof he was going to change.' A smile slowly crept over Max's face. 'It seems that Kevin will become someone his father and mother could be proud of.'

The two boys were now in the middle of a game of go fish with a deck of sumo cards Ben'd had in his pocket. Both were looking slightly board.... as they played to pass the time, getting to the bottom of the deck just as a nurse came in. Both boys looked up from the game as she said, "Max Tennyson."

"Yes?" the old man said, standing and looking at the nurse.

"Your granddaughter is doing just fine. Just a small fracture and some stitches, nothing too bad. You can go see her now." the nurse said with a smile. "Right this way." she held her hand up pointing down the hall.

All three followed the nurse into a room where Gwen was sitting on a bed. She was looking allot better now, a bandage and a small metal brace were on her foot, and a pare of crushes lay against the side of the wall. She had a smile on her face when she saw all three of them.

A smile crossed Kevin's face, he was glad to see her doing well. He sat on the edge of her bed as Max and Ben did the same.

"How are you feeling, Sweety?" Max asked her.

"Much better." Gwen said with a smile. Then looking at Kiley she said, "And it's thanks to you, Kiley."

Kevin didn't say anything, he just began to blush and tried to hide it.

Just as the nurse was about to leave the room she looked at Max and said, "Your granddaughter was lucky to get away from a wolf attack with such minor scraps."

"I don't think luck had anything to do with it." Max said, looking at Kevin and Gwen. Both were quietly staring at each other.

Looking at the two Max just realized that Gwen was going to be partly the cause of this change in Kevin. 'Gwen and Kevin are going to fall in love, you can just see it in both their eyes.' Then a giggle slipped out of Max as he thought of Kevin, gwen maybe even becoming Kevin Tennyson or Gwen Levin one day.

"What's so funny Grandpa?" Ben asked, confused.

"It's nothing." Max said, putting his hands on both of his grandchildren's shoulders and holding them in loving embraces with a smile on his face.

I can totally see this being a cannon episode.
